Have you ever overslept your morning? You hectically get yourself out the door, hectically get through your day and spiritually you have been ill equipped to face the battles that came your way. All because you started your morning wrong. On the other hand, have you ever gotten up early? No one would argue the peacefulness of an early morning. God created this part of the day to be spent in time with Him. David speaks of praying early in the morning {Ps. 5:3; 63:1; 88:13; 119:147; 143:8} Christ himself rose up early to spend time with the Father! {Mark 1:35} The more you study the Bible, the more you will find that God loves mornings!
So what are the benefits of getting up early in the morning? Getting up early allows me to spend time seeking, and praising God. {Prov.8:17 & Ps.113:3} It allows me to reflect on the Lord’s mercies that were given yesterday, and thank Him for the ones He will give today. {Lam. 3:22-23} Lastly, the beginning of the day is when I am able to strengthen myself spiritually for the battles that lie ahead. {Is. 33:2} It is only when I get up early and spend alone time with Christ that I will shine my brightest for Him. So, get up and plug yourself into the outlet of the Lord. Rise and shine!
