Psalm 19:1 “The heavens declare the glory of God; the firmament sheweth his handywork.”
Paul tells us that we can know that God is the creator by the things that are made (Rom. 1:20). Our text says, “The heavens declare the glory of God.” The following poem covers this subject in a wonderful way:
Has anyone measured the water
Contained in the Oceans and seas?
Has anyone found the machinery
That creates the wind and the breeze?
Has anyone weighed the mountains
Or measured the rocks piled high?
Has anyone found the magnet
That holds the stars in the sky?
Has anyone found the lantern
Behind the lightnings flash,
Or found the huge bass drummer
That causes the thunder’s crash?
Has anyone ever counted
Grains of sand upon the shore,
Or found the molds for the seashells
Washed with the tide’s loud roar?
Has anyone made the tiny seeds
Burst open and grow in the sod?
I wonder if we can really know
How great and powerful is God!|
