Psalm 126:1-2 “Then was our mouth filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing: then said they among the heathen, the LORD hath done great things for them. The LORD hath done great things for us; whereof we are glad.”
- Schedule everything.
- Teenagers can tell when things are not scheduled and planned.
- When planning an activity, make sure the teens and the parents know all the details at least a week in advance.
- What is the cost?
- How should they dress?
- Where do they drop off and pick up their teens?
- What are the locations and times?
- The more information the teens and parents have, the easier it is for you to make the event fun and exciting!
- Make sure your youth workers know the schedule in advance.
- If you are ever going to be more than 5 minutes late, contact each parent and let them know.
- Communication is KEY for parents to keep sending their teens to youth events.
- Keep your services lively!
- Always open with something exciting.
- Keep a balance in your singing. Sing Scripture songs, hymns, and spiritual songs.
- If possible, have a live pianist for all songs, openers, and games.
- Play games.
- NEVER skip preaching!
- Keep your Sunday school assembly lively!
- Make sure every teenager is greeted as they enter.
- Have games accessible for teens to play before Sunday school.
- The more you have, the earlier the teens will show up!
- We open our youth center 45 minutes before Sunday school and our Young Fundamentalist time.
- Every time I go to unlock our youth center, there are already teens waiting to enter.
- This builds excitement and anticipation.
- Make sure the games you provide do not conflict with any Biblical principles.
- Remember, we serve a risen Saviour! Let’s reflect that in all that we do
