List of 10 challenges (Items needed):
1. Speed Skating – Tissue Boxes, Start and End Lines
2. Curling – Water Bottles (frozen is optional) You can also use colored Ice cubes to slide, also (different colors help separate the teams easier), Table, Target
3. Figure Drawing – (Pictionary) A fun twist you can add is make them wear oven mitts because it is cold outside, and they need gloves, of course.
4. Noodle Hockey – Short noodles, Chairs, small ball, Goals (optional) https://yplife.org/?p=3944 for game rules
5. Human Curling – Rolling Office Chairs, Target on the ground, Line to launch from. Teams take turns launching a player who is sitting in an office chair toward the target.
6. Biathlon – Rubber bands, Solo Cups, Tables (IF YOU HAVE MARSHMALLOW GUNS, IT’S REALLY FUN!)
7. Snow Ball Fight – PAPER WADS (they do have fake snowballs, which are fun, but the paper wads are easy to clean up). Just divide into two or four teams and play dodgeball.
8. Ski Jumping – (Long Jump) Starting line and large space to jump, a tape measure or some way to measure distance (a cone also works, just place it where the teenager lands).
9. Write the most words from Bobsleigh in 120 seconds (Papers and Pens)
10. Figure Skating – Acting Challenge, where all contestants get the same thing to act out, but the youth workers (or the crowd) vote who did it best acting.
How To Play:
This game consists of multiple rounds of minigames and will involve everyone in the youth group! Each round, an activity or challenge will be presented. Select two teams of participants to play the mini game for that round. Assign each participant a “corner”. Have the rest of the crowd vote for who they think will win the round by going to that person’s corner. Once everyone has decided and picked a corner play, that round’s activity/challenge. Some rounds will have only one winner, while other rounds may have multiple winners or no winner at all. When the minigame is over, the contestant who won and all the other people from the crowd who picked that contestant to win by standing in their corner get a point to add to their total. Everyone else who lost the game or picked the wrong contestant to win does not get a point. So it is a bunch of team events, but ultimately, it is whichever individual has the most points at the end of all the games.
Move on to the next round, pick four more new contestants who have not played for the next challenge, assign the participants their “corner,” and have the rest of the crowd vote again. Play continues until you have played 10 rounds (or your time runs out). Whoever has the most points wins. Give a first second and third place prize just like the olympics. If you really want to make it big buy cheap trophies and make the three winners come on stage. If you run out of contestants who have not played in the games then start cycling the contestants who have already played again until you reach ten rounds.
If there is a tie, move on to the tie-breaker (Paper Airplane Toss\rock, paper, scissors\ even or odd game\etc.), to determine your overall winner.
