Hebrews 7:25 “Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.”
Jesus told Peter that Satan wanted to sift him as wheat, but that He had prayed that his faith would not fail (Luke 22:31-32). Jesus was concerned that Peter was going to be tempted, and He still cares when his children are tempted today. It is good to know Jesus our High Priest, and that He can give us victory over all of Satan’s temptations.
Satan is in the tempting business. He manufactures temptations of all kinds. He makes normal temptations that are sufficient to cause weak Christians to stumble. He makes stronger temptations to use on those who are not easily led astray. He even makes temptations that men have never had to bear.
Jesus is able to give victory one them all. When Satan boxes us in. Jesus makes an opening so we can escape. When Satan tempts us beyond our endurance, Jesus give added grace. If Satan tries to put one of his really big temptations on us, one that men have never had to endure, Jesus steps up and tells him that he cannot use that temptation. (See 1 Corin. 10:13).
Jesus understands our suffering, our sorrow, and our temptations. Claim His promises and bring Him your burdens and your temptations today. You can have the victory.
