It’s that time of year, where money and tight and schedules are packed, but that does not mean you can’t have a teen activity. On the contrary, it’s a great time of year to get together with your teens for an evening of fun!
The Christmas Light Scavenger Hunt is simple. Divide your youth group into teams. You can do Two groups (Guys vs Girls) OR Four groups (7th-9th Guys vs 10th-12th Guys vs 7th-9th Girls vs 10th-12th Girls). Each group needs a chaperone and a vehicle to fit the team in. They are given a list of Christmas things to find around your town. *** Below is the list we used and you can copy *** The contest begins once all teams are loaded and have the list of items to go search for. There is a time limit set to where all the teams have to be back at the church. If a team is late they are deducted a set amount of points per minute they are late! There must be at least one person from the team in each picture. This gets the team in and out of the vehicles to add more enjoyment to the activity! When everyone is back have some hot chocolate ready and show the pictures of the evening. We use an app called Cluster – it is free and can be downloaded on any device. Or you can use the internet if you don’t want to download the app. Teams must send their pictures in in order for them to count. They can upload their pictures in real time to the cluster app and when everyone gets back you can put i on a screen for all to see and enjoy while they drink the hot chocolate and tell the stories!
Obviously the chaperones are to drive SAFELY!
