Psalm 101:3 “I will set no wicked thing before mine eyes: I hate the work of them that turn aside; it shall not cleave to me.”
Let’s imagine this scene, you and some friends are at the mall and this dirty, nasty, smelly guy walks up to you and offers you a bottle of drain cleaner. He promises you that it’s AWESOME; it will rot your teeth, burn your stomach, make you bleed and will eventually kill you. Best of all, he will keep giving it to you for free until you are dead. Anyone interested? Why not? Because you know it’s stupid and it’s gonna hurt. Here is the problem: the Devil is a liar, so he’s not going to tell you the truth about the poison of pornography he is trying to feed you. The Devil’s lie is that pornography isn’t hurting anyone. That is a LIE! Pornography is as destructive as drinking Draino!
God created male and female, check it out in the Bible. It is natural to be attracted to a member of the opposite gender. These feelings of attraction are to be guarded and controlled with the help of God until you are eligible to be married. The Devil twists and perverts what God designed to be a beautiful relationship between a husband and a wife. Pornography will:
• Pervert your God-given desire for a spouse
• Entrap you in a cycle of sin and regret
• Stir up unholy passions
• Fill your mind with sinful images that will be hard to forget
Teens, you may be curious about these things, but don’t drink the poison of pornography. You will never regret the sin you do not commit. You will regret your involvement with pornography. If you are involved in it, then STOP it right now! Get help from your parents, pastor, or youth director. Through God’s help, the instruction of the Bible, the forgiveness of Jesus, and the power of the Holy Spirit you can be free from pornography’s wicked hold on your life.
