Objective: Get the other team’s president out while protecting your own
Items Needed: Dodgeballs, Gym (large space)
How To Play: This game is played the same as dodgeball but there is a twist. Both teams line up on either side of the court. Both teams select a president for their team and two secret service men. The game is played with the same rules as dodgeball (catches are outs, hits are outs, floor then hit is not an out, boundaries, etc.) the game ends when all the other teams players are eliminated or if a president is eliminated!
NOW THE TWIST – The president Can not get hit! If the president gets hit the game is over! It does not matter how many players are left on that team the game is over and the team that still has a president wins! So while eliminating the other players is good you want to eliminate the opponents president the most. The president cannot throw any dodgeballs, but he may catch dodgeballs.
NOW THE SECOND TWIST – The Secret service men – Two players are selected per team to be the secret service. Their job is to protect the president at all costs! The secret service are the only players that can get hit and come back in the game. One secret service member is in the field of play, while the other of the two is seated on the sidelines in a designated area near the middle of the court. If the secret service member gets hit he is out and must run to his other secret service member who is seated on the sidelines. The player on the bench MUST wait until his other Secret Service member tags him. As soon as he is tagged he is in the game and must try to protect the president. If he is hit then he has to run back to where the first SS member who had tagged him is sitting and tag him into the game. So the Secret service members are never truly “out” because they can rotate in after they are hit. The secret service men cannot catch dodgeballs. If they catch it they are out and must go tag their teammate into the game, and the player that threw it is not out for having his ball caught. They can dodge, throw, hold, and block with a dodgeball that they are holding, but they cannot catch!
All other players playing who are not the Secret Service (2 players per team) or President (1 Player per team) can catch, dodge, throw, etc. and must abide by normal dodgeball rules. Once a normal player is out they cannot come back into the game. Only SS men can come back in.
If a team hits the president the game is over no matter what!
So protect your president.
