Song of Solomon 2:15b “… the little foxes, that spoil the vines…”
Someone said, “The Bible will keep you from sin, or sin will keep you from the Bible”. What a simple but powerful truth. Sin cannot co-exist with the working of the Spirit of God. You will either operate in your flesh or in the Spirit, but never in both.
The media once covered the story of an African diamond mine where two large diamonds were extracted. They were taken to a jeweler for examination where each was to be finished into beautiful diamonds. The first diamond, when chiseled down, was made into a gorgeous and valuable diamond that would be sold for much gain. However, the other diamond, as soon as it was struck by the hammer, shattered. It was quickly revealed that there was coal hidden inside, and thus, the diamond was flawed.
Many teenagers live their lives just as the second diamond. On the outside looking the part of a shiny diamond, but on the inside hiding small dark, black pieces of sin. When the pressures of life are applied to the pretty exterior all we have put on shatters, revealing our true self and showing everyone what was truly in our heart. Whatever that small sin may be that you have hidden inside, it will come out. Don’t let the devil trick you into believing that you can hide it forever. No one may know, but God knows and you know. Repent, and get that sin out of your heart. However small, it will eventually catch up with you. Small sin brings big trouble.
