Here it is! With recent censorship and big tech problems, I sought the Lord for exactly what His plan would be for social media. FaceBook has only been around for 17 years, but it has amassed a huge 2.7 BILLION users! After FaceBook, there are hundreds of social media platforms out there to involve yourself. The question we should all be asking though is this: What social media does God want me to use? God designed man and woman with the need for socializing. Fellowship is what our heart and minds crave. After making man in His own image, God said, “It is not good that man should be alone.” God understands our need, and He has created for us in our modern time a definite fill for that need. Below is a list of God approved social media platforms for all young people, youth pastors, and families:
1. Fellowship with God through Devotion
We can not always find what we are looking for on FaceBook, but we can certainly find the answer to our needs in His Book (The King James Bible). The Bible tells us that after creating man God TALKED to man. Adam and Eve hid in the garden after HEARING God’s voice. Be aware that no matter what you feel or what anyone may tell you God is looking for fellowship with YOU. You can join this uncensored platform with three simple steps. Read your Bible.
Psalm 1:2 “But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.”
Psalm 119:9 “Wherewithall shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto according to thy word.” Psalm 119:165 “Great peace have they which love thy law: and nothing shall offend them.” God communicates to us clearly through his written word. Without the Bible, we would have no knowledge of God or Jesus. Use it to fellowship with God. Pray Jeremiah 33:3 “Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.” Matthew 6:6 “But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.” Philippians 4:6-7 “Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.”
God ALWAYS wants to hear you. Not only that, but God wants to hear every thing you are willing to tell him. Give God a chance by fellowshipping with Him regularly in prayer.
2. Fellowship with Christians at Your Local Baptist Church
God created a community that welcomes born again believers. A place where like-minded people can fellowship together and find a place to belong. That place is the local New Testament Baptist Church. Acts 2:42 “And they continued stedfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.” Hebrews 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching. Where does exhorting, provoking unto love and to good works, and considerate conversations take place? At the church time before the church time, and at the church time after the church time. Show up to church 15 minutes early to find a social media platform God approves. It is a place that you can be with other Christians. It is the place I learned much. It helps the preacher, it helps the atmosphere of your church and youth group. Show up to the meeting before the meeting and show up to the meeting after the meeting by being a part of church fellowship.
