Psalms 106:5  “That I may see the good of thy chosen, that I may rejoice in the gladness of thy nation, that I may glory with thine inheritance.”

No one likes to lose. Every day, we face temptations; and often times, we
come up on the short end of the stick. The devil often times forces us to fall on our faces in front of our Father. He doesn’t want us to serve or please God. It is a constant battle. One that we, often times, get tired of fighting. The Bible gives us a game plan that we can follow for victory each time we face temptation.
I. Trust
God has promised that He will help me during battles of temptation. I Cor 10:13 tells me that he will give me a way of escape. Whether this is an authority setting up strong parameters, self control for me to say “No”, or ability to avoid situations and people who would pull me down, I can trust God will help me to have victory over temptation.
II. Turn
I must turn away. Temptation only wins when I give in to it. James 4:7 tells me the devil will leave when I resist him. God will give me the power to resist the devil. I must trust him and turn away from temptation. I have to turn the station, click the mouse, say “No”, and not go. If I will turn away from temptation, I will take away its power and assure myself a victory.
III. Truth
The ultimate defense against temptation is the Truth of God’s Word. Matt 4 tells of how Jesus himself dealt with temptation. He quoted the Scripture to the devil himself when he was being tempted. If you have an area of your life that is overtaking you, (anger, attitude, laziness, lust, music, dress, thoughts,) I would encourage you to find a verse or verses to help you with the temptation to rebel or go against the Lord on that particular subject. This is a daily battle. You will have to fight it every day. Trust. Turn. Truth. You can have Victory.
