Ecclesiastes 2:17 “ Therefore I hated life; because the work that is wrought under the sun is grievous unto me; for all is vanity and vexation of spirit.”
Vanity is that which is empty, meaningless, and purposeless.
Solomon looked to sex, materials, fame, and fortunes but all came up short in satisfaction. Christ is the one who fills the emptiness in our lives everyday. Ecclesiastes is said to be the favorite book of the atheist because it is filled with so much vanity and self- promotion. Ecclesiastes reminds us that living without Christ and trying to accomplish goals and ambitions in life are all vain unless we stay filled with the Spirit. Solomon lived a empty life. Are you running on fumes today spiritually speaking? Have you yielded to the Holy Spirit to fill that one entity your missing? Don’t come to the point where you hate life because of the emptiness. Go to the spiritual fuel pump and get filled up.
