My dad always said, “You never know a rebel until you cross them.” This truth has helped me so much. In my Christian life, I’ve found that it’s easy to do what the Bible says as long as I like it or agree with it. I can feel quite yielded to the Lord until He suddenly confronts me with something I don’t want to change in my life.

What if God wants to change my friends?
What if he wants to change my schedule?
What about my music? My wardrobe? My career plans? My location? My habits? My hobbies?

The list could go on, but no matter what “it” is, what if God’s will is not my will? It is then I find out if I’m truly yielded to God’s will, or if I’m just walking along that path until it leads somewhere I don’t really want to go. As always, our Lord Jesus is our greatest example, “Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.” Will we say the same?
