The Privileged Life

Heb.11:24-27  By faith Moses, when he was come to years, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter; Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season; Esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt: for he had respect unto the recompence of the reward. By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king: for he endured, as seeing him who is invisible.”
We read in this same chapter that God was working supernaturally from the very beginning of Moses’ life. Orchestrating from the way that his life would be protected to placing him in the home that no doubt offered the very best that the world had to offer at that time. Raised as the grandson of the ruler of the known world. Every need met, every want supplied. From nutrition to education he was afforded the best of the best, no doubt. Something stirred inside him that caused him to consider a better life. A life lived by faith. Choosing to recognise God as the author of all these blessings and privileges by faith choosing to allow Him to be Lord over those things. You see, he could have chosen to use up selfishly, as many of us do, the privileges that God afforded him. Instead, he stepped out by faith and chose to follow and trust God. He laid down his Xbox, cleats, Abercrombie shirts and Tommy jeans and his own aspirations and placed the Lord on the throne of his life. Instead of allowing the privileges that God had placed in his life to direct his life, he allowed the God of his life to choose how He would use those same privileges for His good and His glory. Those privileges that we allow to control our lives and determine who we will be according to this passage become sin unless we allow the Lord of our lives to choose how to use the privileges that He has afforded us. Don’t get distracted by the life that God has given us. Remember it is His life to do with as He pleases.
