John 14:26 “But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.”
I preached this past summer at several teen camps and youth conferences. I can close my eyes and see the memories of the activities, the contests, the craziness, the competitions – all great fun. There is just something special about teen camp. My favorite quiet time remembrances are of the alter calls at the end of preaching services. God seems to show up in great power at summer camp. Many of you this past summer went to a teen camp or youth conference where God did something extra special in your life. Let me take today to ask you – are you still sticking by those decisions?
It has been few months since you gave up your wrong music. Or maybe you made that vow of purity but now, far removed from that revival atmosphere, the temptations seem overwhelming. Maybe you knelt at an altar and promised God that you would give your parents the obedience, respect and honor they deserve. Perhaps some other more private decision was made. How are you doing? Have you gone back on your promises to God?
In John 14:26, the Bible teaches us that one of the jobs of the Holy Spirit is to remind us of those times God spoke powerfully to us. Let Him take you back a few months. Remember? With His help and strength, you can keep your holy promises to God.
