Proverbs 2:21 “For the upright shall dwell in the land, and the perfect shall remain in it.”
Usually during the course of the summer most young people spend some time at an amusement park and end up riding a roller coaster. Whenever you do go there, there are always signs warning you to REMAIN SEATED TILL THE RIDE COMES TO A COMPLETE STOP. Most people heed this warning and hold on for dear life, such as myself. But others are dare devils and do things that are not safe, sometimes ending tragically. Each summer you hear of accidents that end people’s lives, and sadly, they could have been avoided. The best way to make it to the end of the ride successfully is to get in your seat and remain in it.
Too many times young people do not mature as Christians because they have not learned to start something and then stay with it. Today’s text verse teaches us that the “upright shall dwell in the land, and the perfect (mature) shall remain in it.” In other words, those who are grown-up and experienced have learned to faithfully finish what they start. Baby Christians do not continue long enough at a task to see it succeed.
Decide today that you will get in the praying seat and remain in it!
Decide to day that you will get in the church seat and remain in it!
Decide today that you will get in the soul winning seat and remain in it!
Decide today that you will get in the youth group seat and remain in it!
Decide today that you will do everything for Christ with determination to remain in it!
