Chronicles 12:14 “And he did evil, because he prepared not his heart to seek the LORD.”
Rehoboam served as king of the divided kingdom of Judah. His grandfather was King David. If you took the time to read chapters 10-12, you would read about the whole life of King Rehoboam. Throughout the course of his life, you will find that he did many good things. There were times that he listened to the man of God. There were times that he lead the nation of Judah in humbling themselves and seeking God to help them. But the very last testimony of his life was this, “And he did evil, because he prepared not his heart to seek the Lord.” There was never a time that he spent just in preparation of his heart. There was never a time that he spent seeking God and His will in Rehoboam’s life.
In your life and mine, the same thing can happen. We can allow ourselves to be so busy that we never prepare our hearts to seek the Lord. We can be so focused on preparing our bodies for church that we never spend time preparing our hearts for church. I must take time to prepare my heart to seek the Lord. I do this by spending time in prayer. I do this by yielding to God every day! I do this by reading my Bible every day.
Satan’s desire for my life is to keep me so busy that I never prepare my heart. If my heart has not sought the Lord, then I will do evil just like Rehoboam. Satan wants me not to serve him, but to be so busy serving myself that I don’t prepare my heart to seek God. I must take time to prepare my heart to seek the Lord! Yield your life, your heart to God! Seek The Lord!
