Old Glory

Psalms 33:12 “Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD; and the people whom he hath chosen for his own inheritance.”
Proverbs 14:32 “Righteousness exalteth a nation: but
sin is a reproach to any people.”

America is the greatest and most blessed nation on earth. Since its
founding no other nation has stood for God, provided liberty, or fought
for freedom like America. All that we are, have stood for, and sacrificed our lives for is symbolized in our great flag. The colors of red, white, and blue have become the ultimate symbol of freedom, and we count our flag a precious banner to be treated with reverence and respect.
Each stripe in our flag has a meaning; white stands for purity, red for valor, and blue for justice. Every time our flag is taken down from its rightful place, at the top of the flag pole, it is to be properly folded and put in a place of respect. Each fold has meaning as well:
First Fold: symbolizes life
Second Fold: symbol of our belief in eternal life
Third Fold: in honor and reembrace of the veterans departing our ranks
Fourth Fold: represents our weaker nature and dependency on God
Fifth Fold: is a tribute to our country
Sixth Fold: is for where our hearts lie-one nation under God
Seventh Fold: is a tribute to our Armed Forces
Eighth Fold: is a tribute and honor to mothers
Ninth Fold: is a tribute to womanhood, and their faith, love, and loyalty
Tenth Fold: is a tribute to the father
Eleventh Fold: in the Hebrew citizen’s eyes represents the lower portion of the seal of King David and King Solomon, and glorifies in their eyes, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob
Twelfth Fold: in the eyes of a Christian, an emblem of eternity and glorifies, in their eyes, God the Father, the Son and Holy Spirit
Thirteenth Fold: the stars are uppermost reminding us of our Nation’s motto, “In God We Trust.”
After the Flag is completely folded and tucked in, it takes on the appearance of a cocked hat, ever reminding us of the soldiers who served under General George Washington in the Continental Army during the War for Independence.
This nation is truly blessed by God, it is our duty to treat those things that represent and symbolize our nation with honor. So, whenever you see our flag, take a moment and remember what itrepresents, to all of us who are blessed to live in the greatest nation on earth, the United States of America!
