Missing Shoes

Ephesians 6:15  ” And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;”

In the 1970s there was a great tennis player named Jimmy Connors. Connors held the rank of No. 1 tennis player for 268 weeks in his career. He won many majors and top tournaments. In one particular match, Connors lost to a player that was nowhere near the talent of Connors. It was later discovered that Connors had played this match with a blister on his foot from his shoes. Wearing the wrong shoes, he had developed a blister and was handicapped for the entire match. The longer the match went, the more painful it became. He could not run as fast or turn as quick and so he lost the match because of his shoes.

Some of best Christians I know have many standards and service opportunities. They have been in the top 10 for many years. Yet these top notch Christians are hindered by their feet. They have faith, righteousness and a good knowledge of the sword of the Spirit but when it comes to their feet going they fall short without their shoes. If you are a spiritual person but you never share the gospel, you are missing out on the entire reason that God put you here. Our feet are to be covered by soul winning shoes. Spiritual warfare is not just defense, but offense as well. We must put our gospel shoes on and go tell others about Christ. It is not enough to be clothed in our spiritual dress blues, but we should have our shoes on and tightened up, ready to go tell the world about Jesus Christ. Don’t forget your shoes. Tell others about Him.
