Ezekiel 22:30 “And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and standing the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none”

If we look for men in the Bible, we’ll definitely find great men. Moses, the man that was the great leader and liberator of Israel. Abraham, the man that was called the friend of God. David, the man after God’s own heart. Daniel, the man that purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king’s meat, nor with the wine which he drank. Peter, the man that preached twice and 8,000 people got saved. John the Baptist, the man that was strong in spirit. “And I sought for a man among them” God is looking for preachers that are real men!! Oh, how we need preachers that are real men in the full sense of the word!

WHAT A REAL MAN IS NOT. He is not fake, two-sided, double minded, or a hypocrite. He is not flabby (soft, inconsistent, feeble). By this, I mean that he does not soften his Biblical convictions, change his Doctrinal position, or lower his standards of separation… ever.

WHO IS A REAL MAN. Ruth 2:4 Even though he was the owner, the boss, the leader and could have stayed home sleeping or resting, Boaz went to the fields. That tells us that Boaz was a hard working man. Not a lazy slacker. (vs. 4) He greeted his workers like a gentleman. His talk was appropriate, no nasty words, no dirty jokes, no cursing, no corrupt communication coming out of his mouth. Because a manly man speaks with courtesy and cleanliness. (vs. 5) He inquired about the young lady, (vs. 8) and later he went to talk to her. Boaz liked Ruth. That is the way it is supposed to be. A man has to look, dress and comb his hair manly. Man has to sit, stand and sleep manly. A man has to walk, jog, run and sprint manly. A Spiritual Man – (Ruth 2:4) Notice the first words that came out of his mouth: “The Lord be with you.” These are words that come out of someone that has spent time with God. When we spend time alone with God it shows. “But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.” You spend time alone with God every day; you will be a spiritual man. To be a real man is not just to be a male, a simple individual of the male gender. To be a real man is to be a person, someone who is holy and different from everyone else. To be a man is to understand that work is not a curse, but a God given privilege. To be a man is to have a sense of shame, to be embarrassed of mocking a lady, of abusing the weak, and of lying to the naive. To be a man is to comprehend the need to adopt a discipline based in Bible principles, and submit to it by his own deliberated will.
