Keeping Track Of Your Walk With God

Ezekiel 32:1 “And it came to pass in the twelfth year, in the twelfth month, in the first day of the month, that the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,”

Ezekiel recorded the exact day, month and year that the word of the Lord came unto him. Forty-seven times it is recorded in Ezekiel that the word of the LORD came unto him and at least nine of those instances Ezekiel made sure to record the date. It was important to Ezekiel that he be able to remember when the Lord spoke to him. In Luke, you will find that the disciples were discouraged and distraught after the crucifixion of Jesus. When they came to the tomb and found it empty, they were reminded by two angels of what Jesus had taught them in Galilee. It made all the difference in the world to them when they remembered His words. As you develop your walk with God by reading your Bible and praying, I challenge you to keep track of your relationship with God. You could keep a journal and make notes of what you learned in your Bible reading that day. You could keep track of what you pray for and when God answers your prayers. Keeping track of your relationship with God gives you a written record of the love story between you and God. You can refer to it when you get down and discouraged. You can refer to it when you are going through a hard time. You can refer to it when your faith is tested. You can refer to it when you are tempted. It is your guide of remembrance. It is your proof that God is real to you.
