1 Chronicles 22:19 “Now set your heart and your soul to seek the LORD your God; arise therefore, and build ye the sanctuary of the LORD God, to bring the ark of the covenant of the LORD, and the holy vessels of God, into the house that is to be built to the name of the LORD.<\/em>“<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We have to keep our heart set upon something. I believe God is someone we ought set out hearts on 24\/7.\u00a0When people are in the NFL they have their sights on the super bowl, while a teacher must have their heart set on having their own class. See if your heart is set on other things besides what you should have it set on, then you have the wrong desires.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1. Set your heart on church <\/strong>– “Hebrews 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching<\/strong><\/em>.”<\/em><\/strong>
Ephesians 2:21 \u00a0“In whom all the building fitly framed together unto an holy temple in the Lord.”<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Church is place of fellowship and growth. Teens need to be there every service. Sport events, family events, and other extracurricular activities are not to take the place of church. Often times, teens choose those events over church because that\u2019s their hearts desires. Teenagers, make church something to set your heart on it\u2019s fun to serve the Lord as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. Set your heart on principles<\/strong> – Hebrews 5:12 “For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat.”<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Teenagers, it\u2019s okay to have principles that line up with God at your age. Try to have your heart set on principles and see what you are needing to grow as a Christian.\u00a0David, Joseph, Daniel and Esther were young people who had their heart set on principles. When you do things, you must ask yourself \u201cAm I pleasing God?\u201d Are you trying to honor by living righteously? If so, keep doing it and keep your heart set on principles.\u00a0

3. Set your heart on His word – Hebrews 4:16 “For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”<\/em><\/strong>
2 Timothy 3:16 “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.”<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Have a walk with God. Keep a relationship with Him by seeing what He has for you. The Bible is\u00a0something God wants US to use everyday. Try to get something out of His Word. Teenagers, do you read your bible daily? If you do not, try to have your heart set on His Word.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

4. Set your heart on God<\/strong> – 1 Chronicles 22:19a “\u2026Now set your heart and your soul to seek the LORD;”<\/strong><\/em>

Essentially, the ultimate goal as a Christian is to be like Christ. Set your heart on God. Teenagers, try to live and be as godly as possible. Your job is to do His will and seek after him with a surrendered heart.

Often times teens can\u2019t figure out God\u2019s will because their heart isn\u2019t set on God. If you set your heart on God, the Holy Spirit will speak to you on what to do with your life – whether it be a missionary, pastor, Christian school teacher or a layman.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
