\u201cParable in the Key of\u00a0C\u201d
Curtis Collins crept close to the edge of Copper Canyon. \u00a0He had been cautioned by his parents to be careful in his curiosity to see how close he could get to the edge. \u00a0Yet, the young man was a little confident and cocky. \u00a0After all, he had conquered the elementary years, and was venturing into the years of a junior high Why did he actually need the constant chirping and council of his caring parents? \u00a0He, frankly, was tired of them always correcting him and telling him he was wrong. \u00a0He pulled out a camera and asked a passerby to take a picture of him near the edge. \u00a0Closer and closer he got to the edge! \u00a0Then, before you could blink, the ground Curtis had stood on and seemed so safe collapsed. \u00a0A great cry echoed down the canyon as Curtis fell to his death. \u00a0His parents were filled with sorrow and very much in need of comfort. \u00a0Callousness to counsel will lead to chaos!

Proverbs 29:25 \u2013 \u201cThe fear of man bringeth a snare: but whoso putteth his trust in the LORD shall be safe.\u201d

Chaos seems to have taken over our world. \u00a0With the COVID-19 scare, our world has seemed to come to a screeching halt. \u00a0Much controversy has circulated over the government and its role in churches, schools, social gatherings, etc. \u00a0The fear of death has gripped so many, and while that may seem natural, the truth is that all will die one day (Hebrews 9:27). \u00a0Not that long ago when one coughed or sneezed, they were encouraged to cover their mouth or direct their mouth into their arm. \u00a0Now, when one coughs, people scatter for fear of the contagious virus. \u00a0In America, the cry has sounded to our Commander in Chief, Congress, and the Collective elites in the medical field to find a solution to stop the virus.

For the Christian, we must face the reality that this virus is a real sickness. \u00a0People are dying and will continue to die for who knows how long. \u00a0Obviously, we hope and pray that this will soon cease and we can get back to the normal routine in life. \u00a0But for now, what comfort can we have to cope with the issues that surround our world? \u00a0The only answer is CHRIST. \u00a0His Spirit is called the Comforter. \u00a0I love the fact that I can be confident that if all forsake me, the Comforter will be there to put His arms around me and console me. \u00a0 Instead of running to everyone else, the only place to run is to the counsel of the Word of God. \u00a0It is comforting to know that we have a God of compassion, ever concerned about our needs.
