Falling In Love With Jesus!

Psalms 116:1 “I Love the Lord, because he hath heard my voice and my supplications.”

At this time of year there is a lot of flowers and chocolate on display at your local grocery store. There is also an aisle or two of cards, gifts, and tokens that you can give to your loved ones on that special day we know as “Valentines.” I am not going to be cheesy and say, “Give Jesus a Valentine’s Day Card”, but I do want to encourage you: When is the last time you told Jesus “I Love You!”? More importantly, when is the last ti me you showed Him? Valentine’s Day only comes once a year, but you had better show love the other 364 days or you will not have anyone to give a Valentine to! I want to fall more in love with the people I love every day. In my case those people are my wife, my children, my family members, and good friends. If you are a teen, those people are your parents, your siblings (yes, even sisters!), your extended family, and friends! We should have a desire to show them we love them every day! We must constantly fall in love! Our relationship with Jesus should be the same way! He deserves so much more than a few days of love and appreciation! Let me share some practical ways that we can keep falling in love with Jesus every day!

1. Read His Word!

The more you get to know someone, the more you show that you love them. Reading God’s Word will give you an insight to who Jesus is and how you can please Him!

2. Talk to Him!
Someone once said, “Prayer is simply talking to God”. That is so true! You do not have to have the fanciest presentation to be heard! My two year old says things to me that I love to hear because I love him! God loves you (John 3:16), and He wants to hear from you!

3. Go To His House!

Hebrews 10:25 tells us that Christians are to assemble together! What better way to do this than to go to church to be with God’s People, Sing God’s Hymns, and Hear God’s Man preach God’s Word!

4. Give Back To Him!

Granted you may not be rich, but you can give to God! Matthew 6:21 reminds us that our heart is going to be wherever we invest in. Give Jesus your time, your talent, and your treasure!

5. Tell Others About Him!

Have you ever met a grandparent? You know they are one because they are always trying to show you every picture of their grandkids! They are proud of them! We should be the same way about our Saviour! The woman at the well in John 4 had to tell everyone about when she met Jesus! Let’s Fall In Love With Jesus and show Him that we love Him!
