Every Teenager Should Be a Missionary

Mark 16:15 “And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.”

When God looks down from Heaven, He sees only two types of people:
Saved People and Lost People. That’s it. There aren’t many categories, it’s just two: those going to heaven by faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and those who are going to spend an eternity in an awful place called Hell. If you are reading this devotional, there is a mighty good chance you fall into the first category, the saved. Aren’t you glad? There is something wonderful about knowing that your sins are forgiven, your name is written down, and you are heaven bound with the hammer down! Question for you: what did you do to deserve that wonderful and precious knowledge? Probably nothing, but to be born into a home that attends a gospel preaching church, or that someone cared enough to invite you to a church where you heard the gospel and got saved. What about all the teens who didn’t have that chance? What if you were born into some other family, or in some other country; and just by that fact, it almost guarantees that you will never hear the gospel and have a chance to be saved. That is a very sad thought. Imagine for a minute, growing up your whole life and then going to Hell, because not one person on the entire earth cared enough to tell you about Jesus. What if there was something you could do about it? Well, there is, and you should!

Every teenager who is a Christian ought to decide today to be a missionary. That with God’s help, you will take the good news of salvation through Jesus to everyone you can. God won’t call everyone to be a missionary to another country, but if He does, you should go. Hell is real and eternity is forever; your youth, faith and energy can be used by God to make a real difference at home and around the world.
