Don’t Play The Fool

Objective:

Guess the closest answer to the original.

Items needed:

Paper, Pens, List of unfamiliar phrases

How To Play:

One person conducts the game and keeps the score for everybody. The object of the game is for the players to finish a quote. The player that gets closest to the answer wins a point for that round. Each player is given a sheet of paper and a pen. The game host then reads half of an unfamiliar phrase out loud. The players must try to complete the saying with wisdom of their own. Since most of the sayings are little known, most of the people won’t know the actual proverb and will come up with funny answers. People with closest answer or the funniest answer is declared to be the ‘April Fool Of The Day’ and gets a funny prize. Here are some examples of such proverbs for your convenience:

  1. What the game host says……….What the correct answer is.
  2. There are twenty-five uncaught sparrows……….For a penny.
  3. Don’t put gold buttons……….On a torn coat.
  4. A dog that barks all the time gets……….little attention.
  5. You are as many a person as……….Languages you know.
  6. A light is still a light even though……….A blind man cannot see it.
  7. It’s not shameful not to know but……….It’s shameful not to ask.
  8. The horse must graze……….Where it is tethered.
  9.  Two things rule the world……….Reward and punishment.
  10. Pulling an old cow out……….of the ditch.
  11. There is no cow……….on the ice.
  12. Pretend to be……….an Englishman.
  13. Straighten the horns and……….kill the bull.
  14. God gives nuts to the man……….with no teeth.
  15. Feeding the donkey……….sponge cake.
  16. I’m not hanging noodles……….on your ears.
  17. A camel cannot see……….its own hump.
  18. Give someone a……….pumpkin.
  19. Flat out like a……….lizard drinking.- (means to be extremely bust in Australia)
  20. Life isn’t a place for……….riding ponies. – (Life is tough)
  21. God bless you and may your……….mustache grow like brushwood. – (polite response to a sneeze in Mongolia)
  22. To have eyes lined with……….ham. – (Italian)
