Don’t Go There

Romans 1:21 “Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.”

These are some weighty verses. These are some warning verses. These are verses written not to people who have never heard about God or know nothing of the Bible. No, these verses tell us a chilling tale of heading down a very, very dangerous and dead-end road: the road that leads you away from God. For every young man or young woman who gets to grow up learning about the one true God of the universe and being taught Divine truths from the Bible these verses are for you. God in His great mercy is showing you the destination of a life that has rejected God.

How does this dead-end journey begin? It begins when someone is introduced to the one true God and chooses not to give Him His rightful place as God. Rather, they decide that someone or something else will be the god of their life. They will worship, serve, and devote themselves to something less than the one who truly deserves it. The second step is to fail to be grateful for the extremely rare and completely undeserved privilege of getting to know God and His revealed will in the Bible.

When we turn away from light the only direction we have left to take is into darkness. Friend – Don’t Go There! The road that leads away from God starts with Complacency and Ingratitude. Don’t go there. The road that leads away from God is a dead end.
