Do You Find Yourself In A Fair Fight?

1 Timothy 6:12  “Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.”
A compilation was made of some famous statements by John Steinbeck, one of his most famous quoted statements is, “If you find yourself in a fair fight, your tactics stink.”  When in war, the most important thing is that you have the upper hand on your opponent.  When you are even with your opponent – you have a 50-50 chance of winning.  You are always looking for the mismatch or something superior that your opponent doesn’t have.
In basketball, you are trying to prepare different things that the other team is not expecting. In volleyball, you are working on a rotation, placing your setter, spiker in the right positions so you can attack your best. Some things that have caused nations or sides to have the upper hand in war are: high ground, intelligence, and weaponry.  These things provide an advantage for a nation to be able to win the war!  No army wants to go into a battle without a plan, but they want to minimize the effort, and possible casualties by having the upper hand!
We, as Christians, are in a battle against the flesh, world, and the devil; it is important that we have the upper hand!  We have the high ground by claiming the power of the Holy Spirit! We have the intel to have the upper hand by knowing the devil’s end and studying our great Commander!  We have intel on exactly how the devil wants to attack us!  We have the weaponry for sure by reading the Word, putting on the whole armor of God, and going to God in prayer!  “If you find yourself in a fair war (with the devil), your tactics stink!” 1 Corinthians 15:57 But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
