Luke 2:11 ” For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.”

Christmas is a special time of year! It’s a time to be spent with loved ones, a time to exchange tokens and gifts of appreciation with others, and a time to reflect on the blessings and memories of years gone by. As Christians we know that the true meaning of CHRISTmas isn’t about getting off school, receiving gifts, or being able to sleep in. Christ is the reason we celebrate.
The first Christmas wasn’t much. It didn’t have a Christmas tree, stockings filled with goodies, or a Christmas dinner! Let’s take a look at what the first Christmas was like.

C– couple that were in God’s eyes, were called out to be the earthly
parents for our Heaven sent Saviour (Luke 2:1-7)

H– heralding angels announcing the birth of the new
born king (Luke 2:9-12)

R– rooms that were full, so our humble Saviour would be
born in a humble place (Luke 2:7b)

I– inn keeper that was moved to search for a place for our
Saviour to be born (Luke 2:7b)

S– shepherds that were willing to listen to the announcement
and follow (Luke 2:8-12)

T– tiding of great joy to all people (Luke 2:13-14)

M– message that was for all the world to hear (Luke 2:15, 17-18)

A– angels that were a heavenly host praising God (Luke 2:13-14)

S– Saviour that was born, so that through His shed blood
a lost world may be saved (Luke 2:11)

This Christmas season will be different for all. Some will receive gifts and some won’t; but God gave a gift to all, and all who accept it have an “out of this world” gift!
