Minding My Members

Proverbs 4:22 “For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh.”
I LOVE the book of Proverbs! It is God’s College of Wisdom for the Course of Life. I really encourage you to read through it regularly, intently, prayerfully, and purposefully. What you may not know is that there are different sections of the Book of Proverbs. Take a look at the first two words of chapters two through seven. Neat huh! In these chapters Solomon is giving his son and all his children some very good advice. One really good piece of advice deals with goodness and godliness on the inside working its way to the outside. This happens when we live on purpose for God by having every part of us, our members, or parts of our body, do what God wants them to do. God says that we should:
Paul said that he “I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection” in 1 Corinthians 9:27 meaning that he made sure that each part of him was going in the same direction as all the rest of him. Let’s consider each and every part of our lives (and bodies) and make sure each is doing what God wants them to do.
The Light of Christ on the inside shines through our living on the outside.
