1 Peter 1:15-16 “But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.”
Holiness is not only an attribute of God, but is part of His character. We, in contrast, are human, holiness does not come natural. God is holy all time. Holiness is being pure, sacred, and consecrated. Christ gives us the examples of being holy. Then He instructs us to emulate His example. As we become more holy in our life through sanctification, then we are conforming ourselves to the image of Christ. It is hard to take a self-examination of the holiness in our lives, but God desires us to be Holy. In this unholy world; evil becomes common-place, and we don’t recognize true holiness. God’s Word, the Bible, has to be our guide. The demonstration of holiness found in the the scriptures will give us clear understanding of God’s expectations.
