Psalm 92:1-2 “It is a good thing to give thanks unto the Lord, and to sing praises unto thy name, O most High: To show forth thy lovingkindness in the morning, and thy faithfulness every night.”
If you are like me this time of year is just a special time of year. It is a time to reflect on the all the good things God has done for us this year, but the psalmist didn’t not put any restrictions on when or when not to give thanks to the Lord. He said, “it is a good thing to give thanks unto the Lord…..” Whether it is Christmas, New Years, or January 24; we should give thanks unto the Lord. The Lord is worthy of our expressions of gratitude.
The psalmist went on to add…….” and to sing praises unto thy name, O most High.” When is the last time you sang praises unto the Lord? I’ve never been asked to sing a special or be in the choir, but that doesn’t mean I don’t have a song on my heart. Singing the praises of God, activates the Holy Spirit working in our lives. There is nothing you and I can do that brings more honour and glory to God, than to express our gratitude and sing praises to His name.
Sure if you and I spend enough time today, we can see all the negative around us, but I’m not overwhelmed today in the bad things around me; I am overwhelmed in the goodness of God. Remember God is good all the time and all the time God is good!
