Isaiah 17:10a “Because thou hast forgotten the God of thy salvation, and hast not been mindful of the rock of thy strength,…”
Bad things were going to happen to Israel. Their glory would be taken away. They would barely reap any harvest. Their strong cities would be forsaken and in ruin. The reason all of these bad things happened to God’s people was because they forgot God. Have you ever gone to school and just had a terrible feeling that you were forgetting something? Then the teacher says, “Clear your desk we are having a test.” That is one of the worst feelings in the world. I hate it when I forget something. The word “remember” is in the Bible 146 times. I would say it is important to God that we not forget some things.
         1. Don’t forget to read your Bible and pray – you wake up late and don’t have time to read your Bible and pray. It’s not that you did not want to. You were just in a hurry. Then, before you know it, it is bedtime. You are lying in bed thinking, “Oh! I forgot to read my Bible and pray. Well, I will do extra tomorrow morning.” Teenager, you are forgetting God! You may want to set an alarm on your phone that will remind you to pray. Whatever you do, don’t forget God!
        2. Don’t forget to tithe – Yes, even teenagers need to tithe and give an offering. Ten percent of what you make belongs to God and anything over that is an offering or else you are robbing God. Malachi 3:8
        3. Don’t forget the decisions you have made – I am talking about the promises you made to God at camp or youth conference. Did you write them down? You need to. Go back and look at them, remember them, and don’t forget God.
